GOP lawmakers in North Carolina have put forth a bill that would
require coastal counties to plan for the future assuming that sea levels will
rise 12 inches at most over the next century, far below most scientific
projections. The 12 inch limit is
derived from assumptions that the rise is sea levels will be linear, “and shall
not include scenarios of accelerated rates of sea-level rise”, i.e. pay no
attention to the science of global warning.
In North Carolina they’ve told folks on the coast
Sea levels will increase 12 inches at most
But that’s far below
What scientists show
So towns on the coast will shortly be toast.
