The poet William Stafford set himself the task of writing a poem a day. When someone asked him what he would do when his poem-of-the-day wasn't very good, he replied "I simply lower my standards." In order to increase output, the bar here is set at a low level - the point of this is to have some fun with current events and politics. I welcome contributions and comments. Donald Trump, Statesman??


In Sarasota , FL, Donald Trump is being honored a "Statesman of the Year" by the local GOP organization.  A GOP spokesman explained,  “He’s a sage, skillful and respected leader” who is doing “all he can to take our country back.” To take our country back to the Gilded Age perhaps.

Gave the  Donald a "statesman" award

He talks quite a lot

but a "statesman" he's not

It's an award that leaves most of us floored.
